Headed by the Manager Legal and Corporate Affairs, directly answerable to the Director General
The primary role of the Legal & Corporate Affairs Department is to provide cost-effective, quality legal services to the Board of Directors and the Management as well as ensure that the interests of the Authority are protected.
The department is responsible for all documentation, secretarial, legal and corporate activities of the Authority.
Key responsibilities of the Legal section include:
- Providing legal advice and guidance
- Legal Compliance
- Prosecution of cases in courts and litigation management
- Negotiating Transaction and Documentation Issues
- Drafting and approving relevant documentation
- Legal Risk Management
Key responsibilities of the Corporate section include:
- To implement the recommended corporate policies.
- To promote good industrial and public relations.
- To keep the public informed about KURA’s programs, achievements and new developments.
- 4. To improve awareness of KURA’s image e.g. advertising, displays, promotions and public relations.
- Managing internal communications, i.e company intranet and internal publications e.g. newsletters.
- Organize and manage corporate social responsibility activities.
- Be in charge of managing the public complaints hotline
- Updating information on the Authority’s website.
